What does that mean to you as a future Dental Assistant.

DATC Dental Auxiliary Training Center New York

Dental assisting is one of those professions that always has had a need for and great shortage of people working in the profession.  After the Covid Pandemic the need has tripled.

In 1985 DATC started tracking the enormous need for dental assistants and the need was primary reason DATC got started training future dental assistants.

Our primary goal back then and now is to provide training to help new dental assistants get into the profession.

The training programs:

  • Are easy for the adult learner to attend.  All DATC programs are held at night, one night a week for 4 months.
  • Are low cost and have an affordable payment method so students can take our training without great financial burden.
  • Provide a pathway from the training to a job.  All DATC programs are endorsed by NY State District Dental Societies whose members are dentists, near to the area where the training is held.  When they need a dental assistant, they call us to post their jobs on our website.
  • DATC also hosts a monthly on-line Employment Readiness Class to teach students everything they need to know about how to find a good job.

Most all DATC programs are held right at the District Dental Society Headquarters Buildings.

Brooklyn Class: Held at the Second District Dental Society, Downtown Brooklyn near BAM & the Barclays Center. Free Parking, Close to all public transportation.

Westchester/Bronx Class: Held at the Ninth District Dental Association, Hawthorne, Lower Westchester. Easy to get there on the Metro North Blue Line Train or B-Line Bus, Free Parking

Dutchess County Class: held in Wappingers Falls, NY also part of the Ninth District Dental Association.  This location is easy to get to from Dutchess, Orange, Putnam & Orange Counties. Free Parking

Nassau County Class:  Held in Garden City at the Nassau County Dental Society, near Hofstra University. Free Parking, Along the Bus Route

Queens Class: Held in Jamaica Estates at the Queens County Dental Society.  On the Q75 & Q17 bus route. Free Parking

Suffolk Class:  Held at St Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson. This class is endorsed by Suffolk County Dental Society.  We use St. Charles Hospital for the training because of the big beautiful dental facility at the hospital.  Free Parking.

Dental assisting can also be used as a steppingstone for getting into Dental Hygiene or Dental School.  Many dental hygienist and dental school programs require you work as a dental assistant as part of admissions requirements.
